Running on fumes
This is how much fuel my truck took today. At 108 a ltr it's a punch in the pocketbook. I love my truck but at times like this I miss old blue.

Late night printmaking
I have been a busy girl. Clean, purge, wash, purge some more. I am getting a little closer to my decluttering goal. Ahh I just need a little creative time to relax from all the hard work. If 3 a.m. Printmaking sounds weird to you then you don't know that many artists.
Last week I taught a gelatin monotype printmaking class and was pretty excited when a fellow artist shared her stash ( I know, I know, the purging thing). Some things never change. Hey! They were gifts it would have been rude not to accept. I do believe there is some potential in the new texture goodies. Below is one of the prints I made using both her texture and mine.

Ikea Monkey business
I have been working at cleaning and purging. Getting organized and less cluttered is one of my goals this year. I am working hard here... And when I get it all done... Maybe a trip to Ikea
Maybe some monkey spotting.

Perfect couple?
In a lot of ways the farmer and I are like these two. He is strong and steady he moves deliberately, with thought and purpose. Where as I could move in any direction, I move with passion and fierce protectiveness. But every move either of makes is for the good of the game.

'Cause that's how I roll.
Yes ok, I could be called a hoarder. Although I prefer to think of it as a discriminating collector.
These roller skates are not a retro replica they are the real thing.
Made back in the days when things were meant to last.
These skates are multi generational now and I won't be giving them up soon.
They will stay in my toy box. They will be enjoyed by children and in their off time they will pose for retro style photos. Roll on!

I'll like you for always
I was tidying up the house and I found this drawing that my seven year old GD did. We went tobogganing a few weeks ago and one of our neighbours brought her GD who was a few years older. After an afternoon of hanging out together my GD proclaimed their friendship via this artwork.
What a wonderful thing that you can meet someone and fall in friendship forever in the same day.
To my BFFs I LOVE YOU.

Art day
Oh yeah, we wrecked some paper, we wrecked it good. I got to spend the day teaching a monotype printmaking class. Ahhh the noise, the mess, the creative energy, and the lovely prints. I was in my glory.

Gellin
Gelatin plates as far as the eye can see. All ready for tomorrow's class. Getting ready for class has been a great way to get to work on organizing my room gathering all my printmaking materials in one place.
I am looking forward to having an art day tomorrow, but not to hauling all my stuff up all those stairs to the art room at the Beaverlodge Art Center

Style makeover
Now that I am losing weight I am seriously looking at my style. Time to get some clothes I love instead of just what covers the fat rolls. I love both of these sweaters.

Cold front
On the way there I was very happy to have a hat. On the way home I was doubly happy to have a scarf. Treadmill til it warms up a bit.
Taste test
The girls come out on my birthday yesterday. We tested these two gluten free cake mixes
Results. I preferred the Betty Crocker mix for its texture. It was more like a regular cake mix. It did call for butter and vanilla, so it was a bit harder to make. I also found that it uses a lot of baking soda. The extra baking soda made it rise higher but had a aftertaste. Next time I would add more vanilla to disguise it.

Breaking fast
Another component of our new challenge is raw veggies with EVERY meal and snack. I love veggies but I like them cooked. Who in the heck eats raw veg with breakfast? I tried this today and it's quite yummy. 2 cups chopped spinach, orange juice squeezed over top. Top with yummy mushroom and cheese omelette. Totally doable.

Beast Mode
I attend a bootcamp. This week the fitness instructor decided we needed a challenge to kickstart the year. One of the components of the challenge was 20 minutes of tv watching = 10 burpees. My guilty pleasures are 2.5 hours of Coronation street on Sundays. The big bang theory reruns , and the biggest loser. Last night was part two of the BL premiere. God help me that was 60 burpees. Anyone wanna buy a tv?
