Signs of summer

Oh more florals.. well this is the first big show of our yellow perennial garden. I wonder if the mower will be fixed before these little beauties go to seed.

Garden Beds

My daughter came out today to help me plant the garden. That is the first time and I think she actually enjoyed it . I know I was extremely happy to have the help. This photo shows a part of my garden and one of my favorite spring rituals . The bed frames. They are used to support the peas in the later stages of growth. It always gives me sense of satifaction to see the beds all in a row . I know then that we will be standing in the garden on summer evenings happily munching on peas and dirty carrots and trying to hit your co garden raiders with the dicarded tops and shell. I can hardly wait.

Red Sky at Night , Sailors Delight

Red sky at night, as the old saying goes is a sailors delight. I set out to capture the sky in its orangey glow. In a precious few seconds this scene was revealed to me, a gift, a reminder to never take for granted the beauty that is all around. It only lasted a fleeting moment but I managed to steal a peek . Much to MY delight.

May Flowers

April showers bring May flowers. isnt that how the old saying goes. Well not in this neck of the woods. This picture was taken today and the only sign of flowers are these hardy tulips.

May Long Weekend

Last May on the long weekend we were camping with our beautiful grand daughters . The weather was perfect for the first official camping trip of the year. This year however the weather is not so nice, and even though all the die-hard campers will be out in full force , we will be at home. Who knows I may even get my garden planted.

Tis The Season

Flowers, flowers, flowers. Yesterday I could no longer hold in the urge. I went to the garden centre and loaded my car with all the pretties it could hold. I love flowers and they are often the subject of my paintings or photographs. If you share this passion, you are going to enjoy the blog for the next while . There are sure to be an abundance of florals. Now if I can just keep them alive until planting time.

Old Rocker

I see this old rocker everytime I visit my friend Judy. It belonged to her mother in law. It is getting more and more infused with charactor everytime I see it. Yes similar to the old rockers like Mic Jagger and Keith Richards
