Spring Thaw

Well it looks like spring coming after all. The dogs and I took a walk down to the creek. The ice is melting quickly now. Soon I will be able to hear the roar of the rushing water from my step.

Optimist

It was almost always cloudy or raining during our visit to the Island , but there was always hope.

Beach Bunnies

One of the nicest things about my vacation was my early morning walks on the beach. They are building a new boardwalk at Parksville , and it looks like the perfect bunny hideout. These bunnies are used to ppl and are quite tame.

Return from Lotus Land

I did not post anything for the last week because I was on holiday. Vancouver Island never fails to leave me in a state of bliss. Even the bit of snow and rainy weather could not dampen my spirits.

Possiblities

I have a collection of ornate metal picture frames. None of them hold pictures they are just enjoyed for their own beauty. It seems to me that pictures would only fight with the frames.
I have thought of painting them antique white, and grouping them together on a wall. I have thought about what to do with them many times. I am at a time in my life when I want to simplify and purge , but I just cant seem to part with these. It is like they are a romantic metaphor for my life.

Ghostly night.

On the way home from our house my friend called and said the northern lights were really putting on a show. I was hoping to get some good shots . When I got out I realized that I was missing the piece that attaches the camera to the tripod. So I took some hand held exposures. I didn't think I would have anything usable but I quite like this ghostly image. Thanks Jodie I did see a shooting star , always a good omen as far as I am concerned.

The Girl With The Saphire Eyes

This last weekend I got to spend the weekend with my grandkids. We had a great time and some winter fun. This little one is known to my heart as Lady Em. Sometimes when I look into those deep blue eyes I transport to a time when her mama was her age. It is a strange and wonderful
thing to see the traits of your children being passed to their children.
