A good eye

One of the exercises in a book I am reading about photography is to lock yourself in the bathroom for 20 min with your camera and take a roll of film.. or 24 exposures.. meant to get you thinking creatively. Well everyone I know would take this shot. Not so creative I know. The big surprise for me was when I looked at it on the computer and saw my eye through the back of the lens. Hmmm I think I am going to try this again.

Gentle Soul

I have seen many children with small animals . and not too many are as gentle and tender as Marley was with little 3 week old Stitch. Such sensitivity , truly a loving and gentle wee soul.

Eva

This little princess woke from a deep sleep to be a smiling , flirty , dolly. Making her photo shoot so easy. I wish they all went that smoothly.

Good Morning World

Last night I didn't sleep well. Finally at 430 I decided to quit rolling around in bed and do something. Ohhhh fog, great day for the kind of pics I love to take. Dewy spiderwebs and dreamlike treelines kept me enthralled. So much so that I would look up from whatever I was concentrating on to see another wonder that wasnt there before. The transient quality of nature is one of the reasons I love to photograph outside. In one moment something will take your breath away and the next moment it's gone. A wonderful gift for me this morning was something I have never seen before..... a white rainbow. It was only there for a short time and my pics didnt really do it justice, so I am afraid you will have to find your own white rainbow. Sorry. I only hope that it wasnt a once in a life time thing as I will be forever searching for another.

Soft n' Squishy

Spending time with my loved ones last weekend really helped me to replace some of the negative feelings I have been having lately. And what could make one happier than a batch of min. eskimo puppies?

What a wonderful weekend.. First of all two of my grand daughters stayed over for the weekend and I loved to spend time with them. Today we got to celebrate our baby Marley's twoness. Also joining the celebration was our grandson Christopher, who we rarely get to see , as he lives so far away ( seen here with oldest darling granddaughter Taylor). All in all a perfect day topped off with awesome photos of a red sunset.

In The Pink

In a effort to shake my post-vacation blues, I went out early to take some photos. This is my son's truck , waiting for him to give it the TLC it needs to get on the road again. The smoke from the fires in B.C. are creating some very interesting atmosheric conditions. Jeff if you are looking in you can get a larger view of your baby by clicking on the photo.

Just one more!

Well we got back yesterday and I have been fighting tears and trying to find my center here. I feel as though I left my heart at the lake. My heart is certainly not in unpacking the trailer. I want to tell you all about the great time I had but as I type this , I just feel overwelming sadness.

Another sunset.

This photo is the setting sun this evening. Beautiful huh? But I think my favorite moment of today was when Reese and Marley and I went for a walk on the beach first thing this morning. Reese said to me " Grandma look at the golden sand and the silver clouds!" It was at that moment that I knew .. it's not just me , she sees the magic here too.

LIght up my life

It is so nice to see my daughter's face light up when she sees her nieces. It was just a shame that they had to leave the day after my other daughter's family arrived.

Splash

"Let's get Aunty Julie" This was the deed that began the all out war between the generations. Of course after a while the adults surrendered and we all staggered out of the water soaked and weary from laughing and playing.

Art Walk.

Today I attended an art walk/farmer's market. I got these fresh picked tomatos and met a nice potter . I found this bowl among his creations. I love it's primitive charm cracks and all. In fact it reminded me of meeting someone you like instantly, but are not sure why.. then as you get to know them , you see their flaws and like them in spite of them. This bowl is sitting on my picnic table at the campsite and will join my other collection of offbeat bowls. Marc Ducharme of Crooked Tree Pottery nice to meet you , ( think raven)

Slave Lake

My second night here. Time to meditate while the sun set. The first night I am spending alone in the trailer. It feels weird and yet so right. I am hoping that Floyd will be able to come back before too long and spend some down time in this great place.
