Altered Aspens

I went for a drive today and found this grove of trees irresistable. These are the types of photos that I could spend hours playing with. It was altogether a wonderful afternoon spent taking pictures. And to top it off my wandering lead me to coffee and a much needed visit with a good friend.

Snowman's Nose

We went outside to make a snowman yesterday. The snow was not quite sticky enough . It was warm so we played for quite awhile. Reese made a comfy spot and enjoyed a well deserved snowman nose.

Winter Willows

One of the things I have always loved about coming home is the willows at the bottom of the driveway. In the winter they give a red glow contrasting with the cool snow. This is how they look now with just a few leaves stubbornly clinging.. the new catkins will be pushing them off. Soon I hope.

A new day

I went out early to take pictures of the clouds. I was hoping to get a picture of the sun coming up . As it turned out I was about an hour before sunrise. Cold and tired of standing I asked myself "what the heck are you doing out here?' And the answer came.. When I was a single mom with five children I would have been so envious of the woman who had the luxury to stand outside and take photos for an hour or two everyday. So instead of cursing the cold I went and got some mittens and gave thanks. It looks like the universe said "You're welcome". But now I have another question.. Have I used my responsiblities as an excuse all this time. And where will I go , what can I acheive , now that I am starting to realize that I am the one holding myself back?

A new pair every night.

I like to go to bed and read for awhile before I fall asleep. For the last few nights my husband has been coming to bed and removing my glasses while I sleep. I find them in the morning on the window sill. Somehow this seems like the sweetest lil act of love.

Coming Out Of The Fog

The last week has been foggy, overcast, cold and grey. That made the sun sparkling on the frosty trees so much prettier.

Painting With Light

Do you remember when you were a kid, and you would use a flashlight in the dark to make circles of light. That is how this photo is taken. I did it with long exposure and a flashlight. I cant wait to try this with the Grandchildren and different coloured flashlights.
